Husky tones, jazz vibrations and a spiritual upbringing in music, Allysha Joy is blessing the Melbourne music scene with the realest on Rhodes, performing rolling rhythms with rough vocal overtones.
Normally singing for Melbourne hip hop family 30/70, Allysha Joy embarked on a solo project initially out of need for growth, discomfort and complete self expression.
She desired taking risks, making mistakes and playing fast, from this grew a sound she calls “R&Bebop”, a bumping combination of hip hop, soul, jazz and her self taught piano style.
She has performed alongside acts such as Sampa the Great, Man Made Mountain, MKO and Silent Jay x Jace XL as well as performing as a feature artist at the 20th anniversary of Stones Through Records, Melbourne show.
Allysha Joy is soon to release her first album, with the 30/70 Collective. Only with Peace and Love.
